Thoughtfully named, The Cool the album influences listeners to question whether or not the ever-so-popular hip-hop genre is really as cool as it seems.
The Cool is on par with Fiasco's debut album, Food and Liquor as both shed light on problems that plague the black community. One of his newest songs, "Gotta Eat", for example, analyzes the consequences of black on black crime.
The Cool is further proof that Fiasco is intuitive and original because he is able to express his love for the art of rap while staying true to his unique style-declining to use the same depthless themes many rappers use in their music today.
Fiasco's aim is to cultivate free thinking. He wants to enlighten his listeners rather than fill their heads with stagnant verses about material gain.
But don't be alarmed, while intellectual and informative, his tracks are also upbeat, head-boppers.
"The Coolest," "Superstar," "Paris-Tokyo," and "Hi-Definition" featuring Snoop Dogg, are some of many songs that are guaranteed to make you rock.
Overall, Fiasco has crafted a timeless album, and with his level of genius and finesse it's no doubt that he will be known as one of the best lyricists of all time.

Anyways, I completely agree with this review. That's what I love about Lupe Fiasco... he is not your stereotypical rapper. (Continued…)
